Kathmandu: The Nepal Communist Party (NCP)’s standing committee meeting has endorsed the political report presented by the chairperson duo with recommendations.
The meeting held today endorsed the political report presented by Chairperson duo, KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’. The state media The Rising Nepal has reported.
The report was endorsed incorporating the recommendations, critical deliberations and supplementary proposal presented by the members following rigorous discussion about party and government performances.
The meeting also has formed a task force to accomplish backlog of works on party merger within mid-January. With the decision, it is believed that the dispute surfaced in the party has come to an end.
In the meeting, leader Bamdev Gautam had presented supplementary report to the report of chairperson duo.
The meeting has formed a task force headed by general secretary Bishnu Prasad Poudel with Ram Bahadur Thapa, Shanker Pokhrel, Barshaman Pun, Yogesh Bhattarai, Surendra Prasad Pandey, Beduram Bhusal and Lekhraj Bhatta as members.
Standing Committee member and taskforce member Bhattarai said they would prepare and submit the report with recommendations in next meeting within two weeks and the party merger process at local level would be finalized based on the report.
The then CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Centre) merged into a NCP took place on May 17. So far the merger of province committees of the parties has taken place while the district committees and people’s organizations are yet to be integrated.
Earlier, the NCP secretariat meeting had formed another task force headed by general secretary Poudel to finalize work division of the central members, The Rising Nepal has reported.
